Contestant #8: Agatha Therese Rabulan Dulce
Agatha is a freshman at the Smith School of Business. She is currently pursuing a double major in Marketing and Information Systems. Agatha is originally from the beautiful islands of the Philippines, but grew up in Bowie, Maryland. Being an immigrant herself, Agatha plans to become an immigration lawyer to help others like her achieve their own American Dream, keeping up with Kappa Alpha Psi’s objective, “to encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor.” Agatha is currently working to towards closing the achievement gap by devoting her Tuesday afternoons and Saturday Mornings to tutoring/mentoring high schools students.

Contestant #7: Nyla Thomas
Nyla is a Senior, Behavioral and Community Health major from Englewood, New Jersey!! One thing she truly loves is traveling the world! She has been afforded the opportunity to see many places such as: Greece and the Greek Islands, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Italy, Cuba and China! While traveling she’s recognized the disparities and differences in other countries which has inspired her to pursue a career in Travel Nursing! She wants to make a commitment to practice medicine in medically under-served communities. At the University of Maryland, some extracurricular activities that she has enjoyed are: Afrochique dance team, UMD STEPP team, Intramural soccer team, the Black Male Initiative, College Connection with the First Baptist Church of Glenarden and being Vice President of Communications for the Residence Hall Association. One Fun fact about Nyla is that she has one dimple!

Contestant #6: Samariah Cooper
Samariah is a senior African American Studies Major from Baltimore City, MD. She is currently a member of The Lunch Table where she serves as an Undergraduate advisor for the UMD team, and practices hosting, video editing, event planning and promotions. She is also a marketing intern and Brand Ambassador at Live Nation DC. Fun Fact: Samariah enjoys reading the ‘terms and conditions’ because she almost always finds loopholes that help her save money.

Contestant #5: Devin Purchase
Devin is a Junior Information Science Major. She is from Accokeek, MD but was raised in North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. She is an artist, a midshipman in NROTC, and a member of the Maryland Gospel Choir. She enjoys traveling to new places, trying new things (like jumping off cliffs), and face painting for little kids.

Contestant #4: Alexandra Fincannon
Alexandra is a senior biochemistry student from Leonardtown, MD. On campus, she has served as secretary and Vice President of Charles R. Drew Pre-Med/Pre-Health Society. She is also a member of Beta Psi Omega, professional biology fraternity. In the future, she hopes to attend pharmacy school and enter the field of pharmacogenetics. What inspires her to excel in her studies is knowing what her mom has gone through to get me to where am today. Knowing that she faced the same, if not harder obstacles, and succeed keeps her motivated that she can get through these obstacles too.

Contestant #3: Natalia Salmon
Natalia is a Sophmore Architecture major planning to minor in project management and/or real estate! Building designs are her kryptonite, so she would love to become a project manager and open her own construction and design business one day. Although being from a small town called Effort, Pennsylvania, she loves traveling and has been blessed to have been able to visit more than 23 countries! If not peppering with a volleyball or shooting hoops with friends, she is usually volunteering her time to help those in need, and is proudly able to say she has completed over 1000 hours of community service throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania combined! Contestant #2: Misha Bucknor
Misha is a 20-year-old Junior Kinesiology major from the best county known. Home to mumbo sauce, gogo, and beating your feet, Misha is from PG County, Cheverly, Maryland. Her family hails from the breathtaking island of Jamaica and she’s a self-taught painter, designer, photographer, and videographer.

Contestant #1: Iyana Marie Moore
Iyana is a Freshman Government and Politics major from Bristol, Pennsylvania. Her future plans consist of becoming a defense attorney with a focus primarily on the injustice of minorities. In high school , Iyana was a four year varsity cheerleader promoting school spirit, community service, and positivity. She also, to name a few, was involved in her school’s news network, class office, and drama club. As for her career here at UMD , her focus has been strictly on her education but is interested in being in anything that has the goal of benefiting the community around her and of course meeting new people. She is very genuine and loves to make people smile with her wild, friendly, and goofy personality.
